Dans le groupe où des conseils ont été donnés aux femmes sur l'alimentation et l'activité physique, on constate: cela les a aidé à continuer à consommer du pain complet (alors que la consommation décroît dans l'autre groupe), plus de fruits, légumes et fibres. Valable pour tout le monde (quel que soit indice de masse corporelle IMC et prise de poids forte/faible). Plus on est grosse avant grossesse (IMC), plus on a de risques de prendre trop de poids. Les contributeurs principaux à cette prise de poids sont les facteurs présents avant la grossesse (non détaillés dans le résumé. Pour les prises de poids trop faibles par rapport aux même recommandations, il semble qu'on puisse agir avant et pendant la grossesse.
