Parmi les primipares, les périnés intacts sont associés à un niveau socio-économique faible, à une position d'accouchement à genoux ou à quatre pattes, et à un maintien manuel du périnée, alors que les traumatismes du périné sont associés aux massages de celui-ci pendant l'accouchement.
